a word in edgeways

Sometimes at night or in the early hours I lay awake and rather than drift around in my mind I have an mp3player my bedside full of podcasts that I put on. Usually I fall asleep quite quickly listening to these and wake up later having dreamed a scenario where I had been trying to get a word in edgeways struggling to contribute to the conversation I had been tuned in to. Of course, the people talking on the player can't hear me which is kind of how it is here on the internet where everybody's talking but nobody's listening. Even so I can't get rid of the urge to write and express my thoughts and feelings just in case they might resonate with anyone else out there and we can get some kind of conversation going. So with this in mind I start this new blog in the hope that it won't be yet another tree falling in the forest where no one hears the sound
